From far away you can see him light up the evening, the Berlin radio tower, which was long regarded as the symbol of Berlin. The steel structure was erected at the edge of the fairgrounds in the years 1924 to 1926 by Henry Straumer for the 3rd German Radio Exhibition as a lookout tower with a restaurant, antenna masts and lighthouse for the aviation. In December 2007 the radio tower had been nominated for the award as "the Art of Civil Engineering Historic Landmark" in Germany.
The radio tower has a height of 150 meters (including antennas), in 55 meters height the restaurant is located, in 125 meters you can find the observation deck. On good weather days you have a wonderful view over the city.
